On November 7th and 8th 2017, IQUAE (Institute for Quality and Agroecology) is organizing a training on procedures for promoting Quality and Origin of agriculture and agri-food products in the Indian Ocean in Rodrigues island.

In the framework of Qualireg network and SIQOI cluster, IQUAE proposes a series of trainings, in the shape of thematic workshops, regarding the promotion of Quality and Origin of agriculture and agri-food products in the Indian Ocean.

This training is primarily aimed at operators involved in quality procedures in Madagascar, Maurice (including Rodrigues), Seychelles and Comores islands, as well as the structures that support those project leaders.

This two-day workshop in Rodrigues will allow the participants to:

  • Be acquainted with the different procedures for promoting Quality and Origin of agriculture and agri-food products in a local context ;
  • Acquire knowledges and skills on the establishment of a SIQO (Signe d'Identification de la Qualité et de l'Origine) ;
  • Understand the assets and constraints of each quality sign ;
  • Identify the most adapted method of quality promotion based on the product’s characteristics and the targeted market ;
  • Assess the impacts of SIQO on the product and its promotion ;
  • Be able to establish and manage the Defence and Management Organisation (DMO) of quality policy, which ensures cohesion among the sector’s players.
